About UsMission/Vision/FocusMission/Vision: Our mission is to build Jewish identity, values, and community through Jewish day school education. Our vision is to make Jewish elementary day school education a reality for Jewish families in financial need by providing meaningful levels of scholarship assistance.
Focus: The focus of The National Jewish Day School Foundation is elementary Jewish day schools which (1) embrace a quality, dual curriculum of both secular subjects (e.g., language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science) and Jewish literacy instruction (e.g., Hebrew, Jewish history, Jewish texts, Jewish core values, and love and support for Israel), as well as (2) build Jewish identity by providing an environment for living and learning about life through a Jewish lens. Lifelong learning habits are best established in the formative years when these values can be nurtured and reinforced daily. Considerable research has demonstrated that the years spent in a Jewish day school environment play a powerful and essential role in Jewish identity formation and ongoing commitment to observance and Jewish community…the obligation to support Jewish day schools is not limited to the parent body, but applies to the entire community. …We (must) offer our children the education and experience that is so necessary for their Jewish success.
